Raja Debnath
Raja Debnath is a Venture Partner at Cedar Hill Capital, where he applies his experience building and scaling one of the world’s leading supply-chain-finance technology platforms to the fund’s investment thesis and value-add to portfolio companies.
Raja is the Chairman & Managing Director of Veefin Solutions, a globally recognised supply-chain-finance (SCF) and digital-lending technology company listed on the BSE, which he co-founded with Gautam Udani in 2018. He also serves as Managing Partner at Cogence Labs, a management-consulting firm focused on advising financial institutions on retail and MSME banking and sits on the boards of several group companies including Infini Systems, Estorifi Solutions, Veesuite Solutions and Alta Vista Food Technologies. Before Veefin, Raja was the Senior Global SCF and SME Banking Advisory Specialist for Asia at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, where he set up IFC South Asia’s SCF and SME-banking advisory practice and launched its SCF programmes across multiple countries in Asia and the Middle East, advising more than 25 financial institutions. Earlier in his career, he held roles at EY India as a Consumer and SME Banking Specialist, at Citibank, and at Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he set up the bank’s Micro and Small Enterprise unsecured-lending business.
Raja holds an MBA from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and a postgraduate management degree from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), Mumbai University, along with an undergraduate degree from the University of Pune.
